Our Policy
Trinity established its Environmental guidelines in 2012, covering the use of environmental friendly materials spanning different parts of our operations including retail, logistics and product development/sourcing. We take a responsible stance toward the environment and are committed to integrate responsible and proactive environmental practices throughout our operations. We strive to work with partners who share similar values, wherever practicable to mitigate our impact to the environment.

Green Operation
In Hong Kong,

  1. We implemented a “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” (“3R”) strategy for paper, plastic and water.
  2. We pledged for our corporate office and select retail shops in premium shopping malls to support the Energy Saving Charter by Hong Kong Environmental Bureau.
  3. We switched our operation fleet to at least Euro IV standard for better air quality and efficient use of fuel.
  4. We pledged with WWF against shark fin consumption throughout our business and operation.
  5. We introduced sustainable materials into our operation.

Green Purchasing
In 2014, we started using biodegradable plastic for primary packaging in our own production and warehouse operations and request our suppliers to do the same when circumstances permit. It is our policy to use paper packaging with recycled content. In support of the Plastic Shopping Bag Levy Scheme implemented by The Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department (EPD) in 2015, we replaced the plastic laminated paper bags at Gieves & Hawkes with environmental-friendly FSC-certified paper bags. The remaining stock of plastic laminated bags is being used in our Tung Chung outlet store. Since 2015, money collected from plastic laminated bags is donated to the Plastic Shopping Bag Charge Collaborative Platform to support plastic reduction community projects in Hong Kong.

Carbon Footprint Management
To better manage our carbon footprint, we implemented an online environmental management platform for a systematic approach to collect, collate and record data for better measurement, monitoring and management of our carbon footprint. Data collection of scope 1 and 2 started from our Hong Kong operations and expanded to other regions of our business.

Recognizing there is always room for improvement, we will continuously improve Trinity’s operation practices to ensure we are on the right track for a greener future.
