Gieves & Hawkes delightfully presented the latest Spring/Summer 2018 Collection at a sporting themed Press Day and demonstrated the highest level of British tailoring craftsmanship and design, paying homage to the incredible era for British menswear in 1970s.
Greenery panelling and the construction of sports ground for cricket and croquet, seamlessly echoes with this season’s retro 70s sporting inspirations reinvented in the collection. Key ensembles embodying sporting spirits and encompassing highlighted elements of fresh colour palette, reference to British horse-racing and playful eveningwear were presented on mannequins under natural lighting.
The collection is inspired by the glamour of the English summer sporting season and its unique sense of style. The easy, rugged elegance of aristocrats, royals and young sporting gentlemen forms a starting point for a collection that channels a particularly British sense of cool. A palette of fresh, confident colours moves our house look beyond summer’s conventional pastels into a richer, more masculine space.
As always, the collection has been designed to fulfill every need of the Gieves customer. Whether sharp business suiting, sporty weekend wear or chic evening dress, this season the house has drawn upon a distinguished British aesthetic and contemporised it for today’s international, style conscious man.
